Today we're going to talk about why silence in church is a good thing - and why idle chat in church is a bad thing.
Feasts for the week:  August 19-25.  More info: New Advent Website.
Christus Vincit Semi-live with the Bitmap: The soft-voiced man discusses and plays music for Assumption and the Twentieth Sunday of Ordinary Time.

Music:
1. Magnificat (Taize antiphon, with verses sung to Psalm Tone 7);
2. Immaculate Mary (tune: Lourdes Hymn)
3. There's a Wideness in God's Mercy (tune: In Babilone);
4. Ave Maria (Schubert), sung by Julia Anthon
5., 6. Hail, Holy Queen Enthroned Above (tune: Salve Regina Caelitum) - two renditions: a) as sung by the choir and congregation of Holy Ghost Church at an English (Ordinary Form) Mass there; and b) as sung by the choir and congregation of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Camden, NJ, at a Solemn High Latin Mass (Extraordinary Form) for Mater Ecclesiae Parish.
